By downloading, installing, or using the Beyond Pixels application or accessing this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the application.

2. Nature of the Service

Beyond Pixels is an Android photo gallery application designed with an accessibility-first approach for blind and low-vision individuals. Features include local media browsing, album exploration, custom photo naming, accessibility customization (font sizing, theme selection, reduced motion, haptics), and on-demand AI image descriptions.

3. Assistive AI Descriptions & Limitations

When requested, Beyond Pixels uses advanced multimodal artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to describe photos.

• Assistive Purpose: Descriptions are provided solely as assistive conveniences to help users recognize content in their photo library.
• Accuracy Disclaimer: Multimodal AI can occasionally misunderstand context, misidentify objects or people, hallucinate details, or omit important elements.
• No Critical Reliance: You must not rely on generated descriptions for safety-critical, medical, emergency, navigational, financial, or legal decisions.

4. Credit Packs & In-App Purchases

Beyond Pixels provides two modes for obtaining AI image descriptions:

• Personal API Key Mode: You may provide your own Google Gemini API key at no cost from Beyond Pixels. Your usage of that key is governed by Google’s respective API terms.
• Credits Mode (In-App Purchases): You may purchase credit packs (including credits_49 [250 credits], credits_99 [500 credits], credits_149 [750 credits], and credits_199 [1000 credits]) directly through Google Play Billing to generate descriptions without needing an API key.

All in-app purchases are securely billed and authenticated via Google Play Billing. Credits are consumable digital items applied to your account. Refunds are handled in accordance with standard Google Play refund policies.

5. User Responsibilities & Acceptable Use

You agree to use Beyond Pixels in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations. You are solely responsible for:

• The photos, labels, custom names, and notes you store or process using the app.
• Safeguarding your device credentials and Google account session.
• Not attempting to reverse engineer, disrupt, or overwhelm the backend infrastructure or bypass system rate limits.

6. Intellectual Property

Beyond Pixels, its logos, trademarks, visual design, and proprietary code are the intellectual property of Athiban Vijay. Your personal photos, custom labels, and media remain your own property; Beyond Pixels claims no ownership over your media.

7. Account & Data Deletion

You have full authority to request the permanent deletion of your account, cloud credit ledger, and associated server identifiers at any time. To submit a deletion request or review data retention policies, please visit our Account & Data Deletion Page.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

Beyond Pixels is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your access to or use of the application.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Use periodically to reflect changes in our app features or regulatory requirements. Any updates will be posted to this page with an updated revision date.
